Terms & Conditions
Effective August 4, 2026 · Last updated August 4, 2026
These terms and conditions govern two things: the text messaging program operated by the Law Offices of Craig E. Johnson, and your use of this website. How the firm handles the information it collects is described separately in our Privacy Policy.
SMS Terms of Service
By opting in to text messages from a web form, over the telephone, on intake paperwork, or by texting us first, you agree to receive SMS text messages from the Law Offices of Craig E. Johnson at the mobile number you provided. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase and is not a condition of representation.
Messages you can expect to receive
Our text messages relate to your inquiry or your case. They include:
- Replies to a question you asked us, and follow-up on an inquiry you submitted
- Case status updates
- Appointment, deposition, and court date reminders
- Requests for documents, records, photographs, or information we need to move your claim forward
- Notice that a document is ready for your signature, or that a check has arrived
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not text people who have not asked to hear from us.
Frequency, cost, and how to stop
- Message frequency varies with the activity on your case. Some weeks bring several messages; many bring none.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message from us. You will receive one confirmation message, and no further texts. Opting out does not end our representation and does not affect your case — we will simply reach you by telephone, email, or mail instead. You may opt back in at any time by texting START or by asking us to resume texting you.
- For assistance, reply HELP to any message, call (661) 631-1713, or visit our website at www.cjinjurylaw.com.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help, or call (661) 631-1713. Visit www.cjinjurylaw.com/privacy-policy for our Privacy Policy and www.cjinjurylaw.com/terms-and-conditions for these Terms of Service.
Carriers and delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your carrier, and we cannot guarantee that any particular message will arrive. Because of that, we do not use text messages for anything with a legal deadline attached to it. If a deadline on your claim is close, call the office.
Privacy of your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile telephone number, your consent to receive text messages, and any related opt-in data are not shared with any third party except the messaging service provider that delivers our messages to you. Our full Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and who it is shared with.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and the subscriber or authorized user of the mobile number you give us. If a mobile number you provided is reassigned or is no longer yours, tell us so that we can stop messaging it.
Website Terms of Use
No legal advice
The information on this website is general information about California personal injury law and about this firm. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer who knows the facts of your situation. Do not act, or decline to act, on anything you read here without talking to a lawyer.
No attorney-client relationship
Viewing this website, submitting the contact form, sending an email, or exchanging text messages with the firm does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship is formed only by a written agreement signed by both the client and the firm. Until that agreement exists, the firm is not your lawyer and is not tracking any deadline on your claim.
Confidentiality of what you send us
Because no attorney-client relationship exists before an agreement is signed, please do not send confidential or time-sensitive details through the contact form or by unencrypted email. Send enough to start the conversation, and save the rest for a call.
Attorney advertising and prior results
This website may be considered attorney advertising under the California Rules of Professional Conduct. Every case is different. Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any other matter, and any case description on this site is offered to illustrate the firm's experience rather than to promise a result. Craig E. Johnson is licensed to practice law in California; the firm does not seek to represent anyone in a state where it is not licensed.
Ownership of the content
The text, photographs, illustrations, and design of this website belong to the Law Offices of Craig E. Johnson or are used with permission. You may read, print, and share pages of this site for your own personal or informational use. You may not republish the content commercially, or present it as your own, without written permission.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, such as the State Bar of California and the Kern County Superior Court. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their privacy practices.
Availability and accuracy
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and the law described here can change. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the firm is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the content of this website.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising out of this website or these terms will be resolved in the state courts located in Kern County, California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version, and material changes will be posted here.
